Black Country residents fighting plans to widen a motorway yards from their homes are to be offered screens and trees to block noise and pollution.
The Highways Agency has agreed to the measures around a new Emergency Refuge Area on the M6 in Walsall following talks with residents of Murdock Way, Beechdale.
The agency plans to use the hard shoulder as an extra lane.
