Birmingham Carnival set to soak up the rhythms

Sounds of soca rhythms and steelpan beats will reverberate around Perry Park this weekend as it stages the Birmingham Carnival.
The biennial spectacle will start at 1pm on Sunday with a procession from Handsworth Park, led by Carnival Queen Sancia Parkinson, 17, from Perry Barr, which should arrive in Perry Park by about 4pm.
