A pint-sized park in the Midlands is officially the smallest in the UK. At only 15ft by 30ft, Prince’s Park at Burntwood, near Lichfield, is barely the size of a traffic island and boasts a solitary bench and three trees. The park was planted by vicar the Rev George Poole to commemorate the marriage of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, and Princess Alexandra of Denmark in 1863. Burntwood Town Council chairman Coun Ken Humphreys said: “The people of Burntwood are very proud of it – well, those who know about it anyway.” The park has been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records Read
