Independent inquiry into Stafford Hospital opened

An independent inquiry into a hospital described as having “shocking” standards of care was formally opened yesterday.
The inquiry into events at Stafford Hospital, being held in the Beaconside area of the town, is expected to last for several weeks.
Inquiry chairman, Robert Francis QC, has ruled the hearings will be held in private and not open to the public or press.
