Birmingham Wheel opening delayed by weather again
The opening of the Birmingham Mail Wheel in Centenary Square has again been delayed.
The 60-metre tall attraction was originally due to open at the weekend, with workmen having spent two weeks constructing it outside Symphony Hall and Birmingham Rep.
But the strong winds and heavy rain prevented the wheel’s opening, which was put back to Wednesday. But further bad weather has again hit the schedule. A new date for the public being allowed on board has yet to be set.
A spokesman for operators Great City Attractions said: "The delay is an unavoidable repercussion of the recent bad weather. This has caused us to miss the time slots arranged for the various international industry experts to carry out their routine inspections, and issue the appropriate certificates."
