The beautiful house and gardens at Packwood House in Warwickshire have been chosen as the setting for a new BBC historical television drama.
The timber-framed Tudor manor house near Lapworth, owned by the National Trust, will close its doors on Tuesday and Wednesday for filming to take place, and the conservation team has been working around the clock for the last two weeks to prepare the Grade I-listed building and its famous Yew Garden for its starring role.
The contents have been removed from the four rooms where the filming will take place and carefully wrapped up.
General manager Julie Smith was tight-lipped about the drama.
She said: “This is an amazing opportunity for us to show off Packwood to a larger audience, hopefully inspiring people to come and visit for themselves.
"The filming also brings in much needed revenue for the property which will be put towards our essential conservation work.
“We had to think very carefully about closing the property for two days, but we believe the filming will bring a lot of benefits.”
