Man breaks jaw in freak accident involving cow

A man has been airlifted to hospital after suffering a fractured jaw in a freak accident involving a cow in Worcestershire.

The incident happened in a field in Westfield, near Great Malvern, at about 9.30am on Thursday.

It is believed a cow kicked a gate in the field which swung around to strike the man in the face.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The man, believed to be in his 50s, suffered significant facial injuries including a fractured jaw. The man was unable to speak due to his injuries but was in a lot of pain."

Crews administered pain relief to the man, dressed and stabilised his facial wounds before he was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
