Plans to place a drug addiction clinic next to two schools and a nursery in a Quinton street have been opposed by residents.
NHS bosses want to move the South West Birmingham Community Drugs Team from Highgate and a possible new location could be the Highfield Surgery, at the junction of Highfield Lane and Dwellings Lane, in Quinton.
But residents, supported by Coun Matthew Gregson (Lab, Quinton), said it was the wrong location.
Coun Gregson said he had carried out a survey of householders which found everyone was against the plans.
“The view is that people can see the need for it, but not in that location,” Coun Gregson said. “It is not suitable because it is opposite two schools, a nursery and a park.
“I would urge the local drugs team to find somewhere else which is more suitable.”
