A MAN has been arrested after the body of a 37-year-old woman was found at an address in Erdington.

Named locally as Claire Brown, she was found dead at a house on The Hurstway last night at 8.30pm.

Forensic examinations are continued at the scene today and a post mortem will take place to establish the cause of the death.

A 53-year-old man from Harborne was arrested in connection with the death and remains in police custody helping detectives with their enquiries.

A neighbour said police knocked on his door at around 11.30pm last night.

He said: “They knocked on the door and asked if I’d heard anything.

“It’s very sad that someone’s lost their life. You don’t expect that to happen around here.”
