A woman and child have been hurt after they were in collision with a car in Wolverhampton.
The collision happened near to the Lloyds TSB Bank on Newhampton Road East at about 6.45pm on Monday evening.
A rapid response vehicle and an ambulance were sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, ambulance staff found a 29 year old woman with a very serious head injury.
“The woman was immobilised using a neck collar and spinal board before being taken on blue lights to New Cross Hospital. A paramedic travelled with the ambulance crew.
“The woman, whose injury was described as potentially life threatening, was anaesthetised shortly after arrival at hospital.
“The eight year old boy had suffered minor injuries and was taken to the same hospital as a precaution.”
