POLICE have named a moped rider killed in a hit and run on a busy Midland dual carriageway.

Benjamin Warrington, 24, died in the crash on the A38, near Lichfield, on Tuesday morning, despite the efforts of paramedics.
Police say his 50cc moped was in collision with a large HGV, just north of the Streethay slip-road.
Cops are now hunting the truck driver who failed to stop after the 5.25am crash.
Specially trained officers are supporting the devastated family of Mr Warrington, who lived in Agincourt Road, Lichfield.
It is believed the keen fishermen recently started working at Tesco’s Fradley distribution centre, close to the scene of the crash.
Lichfield District Local Police Commander, Inspector Jed White, appealed for help to track down the driver.
He said: “We are trying to locate the HGV and want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed the collision, or seen the moped travelling northbound on the A38.
“In particular, we want to speak to the occupants of a silver people carrier type vehicle which travelled from near to the railway station in Lichfield, joined the A38 at Streethay and came off at the Fradley Park junction.
“The HGV was possibly red and black and had curtain sides.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who was travelling along this section of the A38 between 5.15am and 5.35am on Tuesday.”
The HGV was travelling north and police believe that it may have either left the A38 at Fradley Business Park, or continued travelling in the direction of Burton and Derby.
The crash caused major congestion as police closed a four-mile stretch of the dual carriageway between Alrewas and the Streethay junction.
