Woman hit by several cars on A38 near Lichfield

A woman has died after being struck by several cars on a busy road in Lichfield.
The incident occurred on the southbound carriageway of the A38 between Capper’s Lane and Darnford lane at around 9.30pm on Thursday.
A spokesman for Staffordshire police said: “The female would appear to have been struck by several vehicles and was pronounced dead at the scene.”
The woman’s next of kin are being informed.
The carriageway was closed while officers investigated.
Motorists experienced traffic delays up to 8am on Friday following the incident.
