No.41 Adrian Goldberg

Adrian Goldberg is a self-confessed stirrer. His column in the Birmingham Mail is called The Stirrer and he even has a website at www.thestirrer.com.

He first became a thorn in the side of officialdom and rogue traders in 1998 when he joined the team on the BBC consumer show Watchdog. He was the programme's main investigative reporter and remained there till 2002.

Since then he has presented many other television programmes including BBC's The Politics Show, Healthcheck, and BBC Breakfast News. He has also presented on BBC Radio 4 and Radio Five Live and was the breakfast show presenter on BBC Radio WM.

Adrian is a Brummie born and bred, having been born in Harborne. He attended Birmingham University, graduating with a degree in English.

He has his own independent production company and documentaries made by the company include Political Football and The Whistleblower.

Football is his passion and he's a season ticket holder at West Bromwich Albion. He founded Britain's first football fanzine, Off the Ball. He's also a self-confessed foodie and curry lover.

His website is an eclectic mix of news, campaigns, rants and blogs, taking up issues across Birmingham and the Black Country. Subjects range from politics to public art, from football to free speech, from global warming to wheelie bins.

Contributors and bloggers include former police chief superintendent John Mellor and Birmingham solicitor Diane Benussi. The website has also branched out into The Stirrer TV - a kind of regional YouTube, giving local people a chance to air views or post videos of regional interest.
