Cadbury can trace its history as a company back as far as 1824 and is one of the most successful confectionary companies in the world. It is in the FTSE 100 Index and demerged in May 2008. A household name in the UK, the American branch used to be called Cadbury Schweppes plc. For some people, brands such as Dairy Milk and Fruit and Nut are synonymous with chocolate and the company continues to thrive through the beginning of 2009.
