Leading figures from Europe and the US will gather in Birmingham later this month to discuss the importance of arts and culture to the economic growth of the city.The Arts and Culture Summit on October 18 and 19 will look at ways both the private and public sector can best support the development of Birmingham as a world class cultural centre.Leaders of the city’s creative sector tell the Post what they hope the summit will achieve.The leader's culture summit is in part, as I understand it, a symbol of the new leader's commitment to arts and culture in the city. And as such, it is indeed to be welcomed. After many years when it felt like culture had to argue for its "place at the table", the sense is perhaps that the argument has been won.
